Construction has begun at De Klomp! Nestled in the scenic mountains of Santander, The Philippines, this project is a blend of Dutch-inspired design and local practicality, representing our journey toward creating a comfortable and functional home for our family.

The Progress: Laying the Foundation

We’ve started by focusing on the back of the house, which will include key spaces essential to our daily life. This section will feature the master bedroom, lavatory, showers, Jasper’s bedroom, and the kitchen. Each part has been carefully planned to ensure that it meets our needs while reflecting the unique charm of our home.

Challenges and Triumphs

Building De Klomp is no easy task. It requires meticulous planning, hard work, and a touch of creativity. From coordinating the layout to sourcing materials, every step comes with its own set of challenges. However, seeing the progress take shape is immensely rewarding. Watching our vision come to life—brick by brick and beam by beam—makes all the effort worthwhile.

Essential Infrastructure: Septic Tank and Water Supply

In areas like Santander, where there is no centralized sewage system, creating a functional septic tank is a critical first step. We’ve begun digging out the septic tank, ensuring that it is designed for efficiency and sustainability. Additionally, we are fortunate to have our own deep well, providing us with a reliable source of fresh and clean water for daily use. This self-sufficiency is a cornerstone of our project, reflecting the practicality and independence that define De Klomp.

A Vision Coming to Life

As each day passes, De Klomp transforms from a concept into reality. The blend of Dutch heritage and Filipino ingenuity shines through in every detail. While the journey is far from over, the progress we’ve made so far fills us with pride and excitement for what’s to come.

De Klomp is not just a house; it’s a story of hard work, resilience, and the joy of building something meaningful. Stay tuned as we continue this adventure, turning a dream into a home.
